Report Card Day

It has been the tradition (can you call two years of doing something tradition?) that when a report card with straight A's (or the best representation of you giving 100% and doing your absolute best) that person gets to choose a special meal.

Today is report card day.

Makayla is the only person bringing home a report card right now, so this tradition only applies to her....see...tradition...or tradition beginning. Anyway, she brought home straight A's.

I asked her today what she wanted for her special meal...she answered "I want the Snowy Owl Webkinz"

What??? She is breaking with tradition and it is still in it's infancy.

*sigh*

Oh Well. We will go get the Owl for her and hopefully next report card day she will get back on tradition. Needless to say we are very proud of her and her accomplishment. She is a smart smart girl.

update

The teacher has spoken;

"You are all too young to have boyfriends/girlfriends, and I do not like it taking up your focus in class, so you are all to break up"

Another installment

Our saga continues. No not the wrap up of the Fall Festival, to be honest I am too lazy tonight to do that. So I am opting to bring you all up to date on Makayla and "As the Second Grade Turns". The wrap up of the Fall Festival will come soon, before the end of the week...I promise.

So, I started to pick up in the last week or so that Makayla was not so interested in Logan anymore. She was telling me that she did not play with him on the play ground, and instead played with Jon or by herself.

Saturday night at the Fall Festival, MA over heard Logan telling Makayla to "Come get your boy friend! Come and chase me!" Makayla completely ignored him and continued to play with her friends.

Sunday at church, she told Logan that she did not want to be his girl friend anymore, and she said that he said "noooo! take me back!" she replied "no"
"give me another chance!"
"no"
"please!"
"no"
etc etc etc...

As she was telling me this, I asked her why and she told me that he says stuff in front of her that she does not like. I asked her what. She said "he says, poop and butt and fart and burp and I think it is gross. Also he is not nice to the teacher, sometimes when she tells him to put his name on the board he will tell her no"

"I see, well he should respect you more than that"

"huh?"

"he shouldn't say things that aren't respectful in front of you and he should respect his teacher"

"huh?"

"that's not nice is it?"

"nope"

Fast Forward to today;
Makayla jumps into the van after school and says, "I have three boyfriends now"

"huh?!"

"Yep, Ben, Treyton and Logan" (lets take a minute to review. Ben was her boyfriend last year, but he is a bit of a playa'. He usually has three to seven girlfriends at any given time. Also does the name 'Treyton' ring a bell? Yep, he is the hand holding boyfriend of Ann from the Zoo trip, the one that nobody is supposed to know about...ok lets continue)

"Oh, how many girlfriends does Ben have now?"

"seven"

"wow...that's a lot, I thought Treyton and Ann were boyfriend/girlfriend?"

"we both are"

"oh...ok, and Logan is back?"

"yeah, I told him I would take him back"

"oh, ok"

It all makes me giggle, I have not told her daddy yet, he is still recovering from the conversation her overheard on Saturday night.

Hangs Head in Shame....

Long long long ago I told you that I would fill you in on Makaylas' boyfriend.

I did not.

So today I will make it up and start a little saga we will call...As the Second Grade Turns.

Makayla was the girlfriend of Jeffery. Jeffery asked her to be his girlfriend, and if she wouldn't he would just DIE! Jeffery is a cute little boy, his mama is sweet, and Jeffery is a good kid. He is 7 going on 87.

Jeffery was her boyfriend for several weeks, even when Treyton asked Makayla to be his girlfriend too, Jeffery got mad at Treyton.

Alas...it did not last, Jeffery "broke up" with Makayla because she wasn't playing with him enough on the play ground. (I giggle at "broke up")

Makayla was completely unaffected by this. I tried to down play the whole "boyfriend" thing by saying, "well in second grade you are all friends anyway right?"

"Oh Yeah!" was her answer

The next week, the new boy, Logan, became her next boyfriend. (Logan is 8..so an older man) She told me that "Logan looked at all us girls and said I was the prettiest..so he asked me to be his girlfriend"

Logan is quite smitten with my little lady...his parents have joined our Sunday School class, and when we introduced ourselves and told them that we are Makaylas parents, they laughed, and the mom said "Logan is quite happy to have Makayla in his class".

By now I am slapping my knee laughing, and MA is building a gun tower and digging a moat with one of my dads toys, I'm quite certain he has bought some alligators also.

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Makaylas' class and I noticed that Ann and Treyton were together a lot, even !holding hands! I almost died! I asked Makayla later if Ann and Treyton are now boyfriend/girlfriend. She said "How did you know!?" I said, "Well honey, I saw them holding hands". "Oh, well don't tell anybody, Ann wants to keep it a secret, she doesn't even want Treyton to know that he is her boyfriend"

Now I am rolling in the floor laughing, tears streaming.....you guys...this is heavy stuff!
